NVM provides a platform for public participation in community building by creating a ready pool of individuals that can be mass mobilized to act swiftly and effectively in natural and man-made disasters as well as in other peace-time mass mobilization campaigns. NVM is working with number of partner organizations. UNV, UNDP, Civil Defence, Boy Scouts, Girl Guides, NCHD, Muslim Aid, Heritage Foundation, Helping Hand, NRSP, Hakas, Government of AJK, Government of NWFP, Forest Department/Watershed of NWFPUNV

United Nations Volunteers (UNV) programme is the UN organization that promotes volunteerism for development. Its work includes the assignment each year of over 8,000 skilled and experienced professionals with volunteer spirit to support a broad range of development programmes in some 140 countries around the world. In Pakistan, the National UNV scheme has been publicly launched in February 2006, and currently 14 International UNVs and 21 National UNVs are serving in various UN and Government agencies.

Civil Defence

Civil Defence Organization is functioning in the country under the administrative control of Ministry of Interior.The main role of the department is to educate people about safety measures to be adopted at times of calamities such as fire, flood, earthquake, natural and man-made disasters, and to provide relief services to the victims of such eventualities. Based on the intensity and modalities of training required for various people, the civil population is divided into the following categories with regard to providing of training: -

Employees of Government departments, autonomous bodies, industrial / commercial undertakings.
Volunteers and general public.
Students of schools / colleges.

Boy Scouts

Scouting can play a very vital role in forming the character of our youth, Promoting their physical, mental and spiritual development and making them well disciplined, useful and good citizen. We are living in a far from perfect world. Despite the progress of civilization, the law of jungle, unfortunately, still prevails. Might is considered right and the strong do not refrain from exploiting the weak. Self advancement, greed and lust for power sway the conduct of individuals, as that of nations.

With a ranking of 144 on the UNDP’s Human Development Index, out of a total of 178 countries, Pakistan faces enormous challenges at the beginning of the new millennium. Poverty, illiteracy, lack of healthcare facilities and a continuously soaring population have for long hampered the scope of generating improved social sector outcomes for the millions of Pakistanis living at the grassroots. The National Commission for Human Development (NCHD) which came into being in July 2002 as an autonomous federal body was mandated with the role of orchestrating Human Development efforts in Pakistan.

NRSP

Established in 1991, NRSP is the largest Rural Support Programme in the country in terms of outreach, staff and development activities. It is a not for profit organization registered under Section 42 of Companies Ordinance 1984.
