Anti-Smoking Campaign
NVM join Anti-smoking campaign launched by the Ministry of Health and World Health organization. Tobacco related diseases making a serious public health problem in Pakistan. Adolescent experimentation with this highly addictive product, can easily lead to a life time of tobacco dependence. This menace is registering a manifold increase in Pakistani youth. NVM organized a thematic seminar “Tobacco and Youth”. Young volunteers hailing from different walks of life attended the seminars. Awareness seminars for print and electronic media persons were also organized by the WHO and M/O Health and NVM participated in the seminar being collaborating partner. A Anti-smoking Mountain Hike was also organized to sensitize the youth. More than 100 young volunteers participated in the hike.
Forest Conservation Campaign
NVM in collaboration with Forest Department, Murree and partner organization launched forest conservation campaign in Murree Hills. A volunteer camp established from 26 to 28 July, 2008 and more than 1,000 saplings were planted at Kalli Metti, Murree.
